Golf launch monitor for iPhone
Your iPhone is the launch monitor.
Ball speed, carry and a traced flight from every swing. Nothing to buy, pair or charge.
Free to download. iPhone and iPad.
What it does
Everything a launch monitor does, from your pocket.
Every swing, measured
Stand your phone behind the ball and hit. HitSum reads ball speed, launch and direction from slow-motion video, then works out carry, total, apex and hang time.
Your numbers are read aloud, so you can stay in your stance.
Shot tracer
Film a swing, tap the ball, and HitSum draws the flight line over your video.
Add your carry and share a clip your friends will actually watch. The tracer is always free.
See it land. Know your bag.
Watch each shot fly on a 3D range with greens from 50 to 350 yards, and see how far you finished from the nearest pin.
Every shot is saved by club, so you learn your real carry with each one and how it's trending.
Honest numbers
Lime is measured. Grey is estimated.
Ball speed, launch and direction come from the arc the camera saw. Carry and apex assume a typical spin for your club, so they carry a grey tag. You always know which is which.

Questions
FAQ
Which iPhones work?
The launch monitor works best on iPhone 12 or later. iPads and older iPhones running iOS 17.2 or later can watch a friend's Join session.
Do I need slow motion?
Yes. HitSum films at 240 fps slow motion so it can see the ball leave the club.
Does it work indoors?
Yes. Set up 8 to 10 ft from your net or screen, in bright, even light.
How accurate is it?
Ball speed, launch and direction are measured from high-speed video of the ball's flight. Carry and apex assume a typical spin for your club, so they're marked as estimates. Measure your distance to the ball: it scales every number.
Does it measure spin?
No. Spin is estimated from your club, which is why carry and apex show a grey tag.
What about altitude?
HitSum uses your phone's barometer to adjust for thin air.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. HitSum is for iPhone and iPad.
What's free?
The launch monitor for 15 measured shots a day, the shot tracer, and today's session review. See Free vs Premium.
